I want to take a moment to wish a Happy Birthday to the stock market bull that began on March 9th, 2009. In the chart below I have shown how the S&P, the Nasdaq, and MasterCard (one of my favorite stocks) have done since the market bottom that occurred on the fateful day in March of 2009.
This bull market has surprised many investors, although I must admit to my readers that when the market was falling during the credit bust in 2008…I began to start buying quality stocks such as MasterCard and many others, but even I was surprised by the speed of this market’s comeback. Do I think that this market can keep going? Do I think the Bull will have a fourth birthday? The answer to both these questions is something that I must ponder further, but what I do know is that in both bull or bear markets quality stocks can be bought cheap if their fundamentals are strong. So, again I wish you, Bull Market a very happy birthday.
